That’s all Folk

Hidden roots from familiar places (such as Virginia) and unfamiliar flavors from worlds undiscovered (Northern Ireland and the Mekong River) await those attending the Smithsonian Folklife Festival, continuing through Sunday and again from July 4 through 8 on the Mall. Today’s performances include demonstrations by Virginian flat-picking guitar master Scott Fore (at noon and 2 p.m.), a 3 p.m. gig by Northern Ireland’s lively Low Country Boys and a 4:45 p.m. show by Vietnam’s Hat Boi Opera. Call 202/633-1000 or visit www.folk life.si.edu.
