SEEN AND HEARD AT RFK STADIUM
That other team from up the Parkway was a hot topic of conversation before last night’s Nationals game.
The Orioles’ firing of manager Sam Perlozzo and expected hiring of longtime baseball executive Andy MacPhail was met with plenty of interest down here. Nationals president Stan Kasten called MacPhail one of his best friends in the business and was a bit surprised he might be taking this job.
Manny Acta never got to know Perlozzo well, but as a fellow manager could sympathize with his situation. As Acta put it: We’re all heading for that door eventually.
