Eddie, Edmonds engaged

Eddie Murphy joked early last week about what kind of engagement ring he would get for girlfriend Tracey Edmonds. Turns out he knew exactly what he was talking about: The pair got engaged two days later, Miss Edmonds’ personal assistant confirmed to People magazine.

The engagement, first reported by OK! magazine, came shortly after the couple stepped out at the July 23 premiere of “Who’s Your Caddy?” which Miss Edmonds produced. Earlier this month, Miss Edmonds — who began dating Mr. Murphy, 46, last fall — had to shoot down rumors that the couple had split in the wake of the paternity case between the comic actor and his former girlfriend, Spice Girl Melanie Brown, who gave birth to their daughter, Angel Iris, in April.

Miss Edmonds, 40, whose divorce from singer-composer Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds was finalized in June, said “the paternity test had no impact on our relationship” and that they were “very happy.”

Kelly O. in ’Chicago’

Kelly Osbourne will make her West End debut in “Chicago,” Associated Press reports.

Miss Osbourne, 22, will join the cast at London’s Cambridge Theatre, playing the role of prison matron Mama Morton during a seven-week run starting Sept. 10, theater reps said yesterday. She found fame on the reality show “The Osbournes” alongside her parents, Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne, and her brother, Jack.

No ill will

Music legend Ike Turner said he holds nothing against St. Louis’ mayor for a decision not to issue a City Hall proclamation in his honor.

Mayor Francis Slay has turned down a request from organizers of the Big Muddy Blues Festival to make Sept. 2 Ike Turner Day. According to AP, Mr. Turner, 75, is scheduled to perform that day at the St. Louis festival.

He says he never asked for the honor, noting that he already has a star on the St. Louis Walk of Fame, and said he doesn’t worry about whether he’s given those honors.

“I just care about making people happy in the audience,” he said.

Mr. Turner’s past troubles include a 17-month stint in jail on a 1990 drug conviction. He was depicted as an abusive husband in “What’s Love Got to Do With It,” a 1993 movie about ex-wife Tina Turner’s life that starred Angela Bassett. Mr. Turner admitted in his autobiography that he had hit his former wife but said the movie depiction hurt his career.

“All I can say, and I would say this only to her, is ’I’m sorry,’ ” he told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch in Sunday’s edition. “But I can’t undo yesterday. I don’t owe anybody else that.”

MIA

Josef Stalin, Adolf Hitler and Franklin D. Roosevelt are missing their clothes, and Fred Flintstone and the Teletubbies are just plain missing after a raid on wax figures owned by Ireland’s National Wax Museum, AP reports.

At least 50 figures were stolen or wrecked several weeks ago, the museum reported yesterday. The wax museum, closed since 2005, has been storing its 400 figures in a warehouse while it works to reopen this fall. Police say they suspect a door was left unlocked and the warehouse was used for an all-night rave party, but museum officials discount that theory.
