SEEN AND HEARD AT SHEA STADIUM

After a most-eventful major league debut Thursday afternoon, at least John Lannan got to come home for the weekend.

The Nationals rookie left-hander, who was ejected from his first big league game after plunking Chase Utley and Ryan Howard in succession, drew all kinds of attention (especially when it was revealed Utley broke his hand).

Lannan, though, has taken it all in stride. The Long Island native was excited to return to his hometown and make preparations for his next start.

“I know that next time I go out, I’ll do better and actually prove that I belong,” Lannan, 22, said.

OVERHEARD

“Hey, I didn’t know you won that game!”

— Cindy Acta, who turned Thursday’s game off when her husband Manny was ejected in the fifth inning with the Nationals trailing. They rallied to beat the Phillies 7-6.
