Passing offense: A-

 Quarterback Todd Collins continued his hot play since replacing Jason Campbell three games ago, finishing 22-for-29 for 254 yards and two scores. Running back Clinton Portis found receiver Antwaan Randle El for a 15-yard touchdown. The pass protection was excellent.

Rushing offense: C

 As expected, Clinton Portis got little traction early against Minnesota’s league-leading run defense, managing just 11 yards on his first six carries. However, he finished with 76 yards on 20 carries. Fullback Mike Sellers was stuffed on fourth-and-goal from the 1 in the first quarter.

Passing defense: A

 Former Vikings cornerback Fred Smoot got sweet revenge for his March release with a interception and 37-yard return, and Shawn Springs set up a touchdown with another interception. Randall Godfrey forced a fumble, and corner Leigh Torrence had a big third-quarter sack.

Rushing defense: A-

 The Redskins did a terrific job against backs Adrian Peterson and Chester Taylor and their three Pro Bowl offensive linemen, holding them to a combined 41 yards ” three less than quarterback Tarvaris Jackson. Kedric Golston dumped fullback Tony Richardson for a safety.

Special teams: C-

 Holder Derrick Frost possibly cost the Redskins three points in the second quarter when he bobbled a snap on a 51-yard field goal attempt. Frost also had a couple of poor punts early before kicking a 55-yarder. The return and coverage units were not good.

Coaching: A

 Amidst injuries, heartbreaking losses and death, Joe Gibbs somehow kept the Redskins together. Last night, they delivered their most clutch performance in two years to take control of their playoff fate. Gregg Williams’ defense was terrific, and Al Saunders’ play calls were creative.
