Anderson of film
Many years have passed since Marian Anderson’s haunting contralto rang out from the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, but the memory lingers. Tonight at 7, the National Portrait Gallery (8th and F streets NW) presents a music-filled program about her life titled “Miss Anderson’s Music.” It includes singing by soprano Janice Chandler-Eteme and narration by the gallery’s Jewell Robinson. Admission is free. Call 202/633-1000 or visit www.npg.si.edu.
