TONIGHT”S BEST BET ON TV

The first full weekend of the NFL preseason kicks off with Indianapolis at Dallas. Ch. 5, 8 p.m.

HE SAID WHAT?

“I dreamed about it as a kid but unfortunately when I dreamed about it, I was the one hitting the home run.” Nationals pitcher Mike Bacsik on giving up Barry Bonds” 756th home run Tuesday

AREA POWER RANKINGS

1. CLINTON PORTIS

Knee tendinitis has kept the Redskins running back out more than a week. If his situation is the same next week, it”s officially time to be concerned.

2. MIKE BACSIK

On the Nationals, he was the perfect pitcher to give up Bonds’ record-setting home run because he handled it like a professional with candor and humor.

3. KYLE BUSCH

Joe Gibbs” free agent additions have been a mixed bag with the Redskins, but snagging Busch, 22, to drive the No. 18 car is a coup for Coach Joe”s race team.

4. JIM MORA JR.

Our eighth candidate to replace Gibbs should he retire at season”s end. A disaster in Atlanta, but he”s the young kind of coach The Danny might pursue.

5. DAVID BECKHAM

He helped sell out RFK Stadium for tonight”s Los Angeles Galaxy-D.C. United game. If he doesn”t play (as expected), fans should demand at least a 50 percent refund.

TWT FIVE >> NFL PRESEASON QUESTIONS

1. After a miserable August last year, can the Redskins somehow build momentum entering this year”s regular season?

2. Already riddled with question marks, what will the Giants do without future Hall of Fame pass rusher Michael Strahan?

3. Can the defending Super Bowl champion Colts make up for the loss of injured defensive tackle/run stopper Anthony McFarland?

4. Is Philadelphia quarterback Donovan McNabb fully healed from the knee injury he sustained against Tennessee last November?

5. Will No. 1 overall pick JaMarcus Russell sign with Oakland sometime this month or will his rookie season be a waste?
