SEEN AND HEARD AT RFK STADIUM
The Nationals returned home last night for the first time in nine days and might have been surprised to see what the RFK field looked like.
It was possibly in its worst shape since baseball returned to the District in 2005. Right field and foul territory behind first base had large patches of brown. Obviously, last week’s D.C. United game against David Beckham and the Los Angeles Galaxy played in a thunderstorm didn’t help.
Just another reason for the Nationals to look forward to next season, when they won’t be sharing their facility with any other teams.
BY THE NUMBERS
3 Runs Jason Bergmann allowed Monday night during a four-inning rehab start for Class AAA Columbus. Bergmann, on the DL with a strained hamstring, is expected to make at least one more start in the minors before returning.
