Cobra, an 8-year-old Belgian Malinois, is one of the COVID-19-certified detection dogs at Florida International University's International Forensic Research Institute (IFRI). She was previously trained to sniff out laurel wilt, a fungus that was destroying South Florida's avocado trees. The university has four dogs certified to detect COVID-19. It will deploy its COVID-19 detection dogs to screen employees at the Miami International Airport at the end of the month for a monthslong pilot study. (Photo courtesy of FIU IFRI)
