7. David Freese, St. Louis Cardinals (2011) earned MVP honors for saving the series twice. The Texas Rangers had the Cardinals down to its final strike in Game 6. Facing elimination, the third baseman tied it with a triple off the right-field wall. After each team scored two runs in the 10th, Freese blasted a walk-off homer in the 11th. Freese started Game 7 with a two-run double in the opening frame. He finished with three doubles, a triple, a home run, five walks and a 1.160 OPS.
