Two days after former President Donald Trump became President-elect Donald Trump, the Squad co-founder broke her silence to blame sexism.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez warned of a “very scary time” as a result of Mr. Trump’s defeat of Vice President Kamala Harris.

“I would ask how you’re doing, but…” she said in a somber tone at the start of a very somber Instagram video shot in her kitchen.

“This is going to be a very, very, very, challenging difficult time … this is going to be a very scary time” under a president whom Ms. Ocasio-Cortez called a fascist.

“I’m not here to sugarcoat what we are about to experience,” the New York Democrat warned.

She said the loss wasn’t Ms. Harris’ fault, but the result of her being thrust into the campaign on short notice and losing some votes from both parties because she’s a woman.

“If Kamala Harris was Tom Harris, we may have a different result today,” she said.

Only two women have won major-party nominations for president — and both lost to Mr. Trump.

Ms. Ocasio-Cortez also expressed her frustration that Mr. Trump expanded his base of support with “a lot of the working class” and ethnic minorities.

“It’s an enormous setback because the fascist won a lot of working-class support, which has happened in history,” she said.
