The Washington Wizards have a critical back-to-back that starts Tuesday, and they’ll be without star Bradley Beal for both games.

The Wizards announced Monday that Beal will miss the team’s games against Milwaukee on Tuesday and Philadelphia on Wednesday with a sprained left wrist. He sustained the injury in the third quarter of the Wizards’ loss to Memphis on Saturday.

Not having Beal, the team’s leader and top scorer at 23.2 points per game, is unwelcome news for a Wizards team that badly needs a win. Washington (23-26) is on a five-game losing streak, and with the NBA’s trade deadline approaching, every upcoming game is even more important.

The silver lining, though, is that the Wizards are 6-3 this season without Beal, who has missed time with multiple stints on the league’s COVID-19 list.
