FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - Kentucky reported nearly 3,100 new coronavirus cases and 32 more virus-related deaths Saturday, Gov. Andy Beshear said.

More than 1,600 virus patients are hospitalized in Kentucky, including 408 in intensive-care units, he said. The statewide rate for positive tests was 11.74%, down from Friday.

Beshear also reported progress in the state’s vaccination program. He tweeted that the state is on track to meet its goal of administering 90% of all COVID-19 vaccine within seven days of arrival.

In his update Friday, the governor said Kentucky had received 325,625 COVID-19 vaccine doses and 190,547 doses had been administered.

On Thursday, Beshear announced a partnership between the state and Kroger that will lead to high-volume, drive-thru vaccination centers being set up statewide starting the first week of February.
