LYNN, Mass. (AP) - Police shot and killed a robbery suspect who had been pursued by officers across city lines, authorities said Monday.
The suspect was being pursued by Revere police after allegedly robbing a Walgreens pharmacy just after 8 a.m., according to Carrie Kimball, a spokeswoman for the Essex district attorney’s office.
Revere police notified Lynn police that the pursuit was crossing into Lynn and the shooting happened shortly after that, Kimball told The Daily Item of Lynn.
A Revere police officer was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston with injuries not considered life threatening, she said. The officer was not shot, she said.
Massachusetts State Police are assisting in the investigation, a spokesman said in an email.
No names were released.
The Essex district attorney is investigating whether the use of deadly force was justified.
