CONCORD, N.H. (AP) - Members of New Hampshire’s congressional delegation have announced the state will get a $600,000 federal loan to provide financial assistance to small businesses in the Lakes region.
Sens. Jeanne Shaheen and Maggie Hassan and Rep. Chris Pappas said a loan from the U.S. Department of Agriculture will go to the Wentworth Economic Development Corporation in Wolfeboro to establish a loan fund. The funds will help 16 rural businesses retain 60 full-time jobs and create 30 new jobs.
Shaheen said the loan is critical help businesses weather the disruption from the coronavirus pandemic. Hassan said said the loan will help provided “much-needed support for small businesses.”
“I will keep working across the aisle to help our small businesses get through this challenging time, including by pushing for an additional, comprehensive relief package that includes direct support for businesses and families,” she said.
