KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) - The National Weather Service issued a flood warning is for parts of northeastern Kansas and western Missouri following storms Wednesday, with more rain expected Thursday.

The weather service issued the warnings for areas around Big Creek at Blairstown, Missouri, and the Delaware River near Muscotah, Kansas. The service also issued a flood watch for low-lying places in the region, as well as a hazardous weather advisory for the area for Thursday.

Moderate to heavy rainfall could be expected to bring another 1 or 2 inches (2.5 to 5 centimeters) of rain on Thursday, forecasters said, in addition to the 3 to 5 inches (7.6 to 12.7 centimeters) of rain that fell in the region Wednesday night.
