FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - Dollar General Corp. plans to open two new distribution centers that are expected to employ more than 360 people in Kentucky, Gov. Andy Beshear said.
The retailer’s plans include adding a warehouse in Walton in northern Kentucky and a cold storage facility in Bowling Green in south-central Kentucky, the governor said Wednesday.
The addition of both facilities is expected to create more than 365 jobs and support operations at more than 2,300 stores, Beshear said.
Construction on both facilities is expected to begin by next month. The Walton warehouse is expected to be operational by next January and Bowling Green facility by next summer, he said.
The governor thanked Dollar General for its latest investment in Kentucky. The company currently operates more than 580 stores in the Bluegrass State and employs more than 5,600 Kentuckians, according to a release from the governor’s office.
