BOSTON (AP) - Two people are dead and a third is critically injured following a crash in Brockton.
NBC 10 Boston reports that the incident occurred just after 3 a.m. Sunday when a Volkswagen Jetta heading the wrong way on Reynolds Memorial Highway struck a Hyundai Santa Fe.
The Hyundai’s driver, a 66-year-old woman, was taken to a hospital in Boston where she later died. Her passenger, a 39-year-old woman, died at the scene of the crash.
The 30-year-old female driver of the Volkswagen was taken to a hospital in Brockton with life-threatening injuries.
A third vehicle was also struck during the crash. The driver of that vehicle wasn’t injured.
None of the individuals involved in the crash have been identified by police. The incident remains under investigation in Brockton, a city of about 100,000 that is 25 miles south of Boston.
