Senate Minority Leader Charles E. Schumer said impeachment of President Trump is still an option, but it will depend on the outcome of special counsel Robert Mueller’s report.

Mr. Schumer’s comments came a day after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi seemed to tamp down on the push for impeachment, saying the president was “not worth it.”

The New York senator took pains to keep the prospect of impeachment alive.

“I’m going to wait for the Mueller report,” Mr. Schumer said.

He said it’s possible impeachment would be too divisive, as Mrs. Pelosi suggested — but he said it’s also possible the Mueller report brings Americans together in favor of impeachment.

“Let’s wait for the report,” Mr. Schumer said.
