BOSTON (AP) - The mayor of Boston says he is getting way too much credit for coming to the aid of a man whose car engine caught fire on a city highway.
The Boston Fire Department tweeted that Mayor Marty Walsh stopped on Interstate 93 to help the man on Tuesday night after the New England Patriots’ victory parade.
The fire department says Walsh and his security detail stayed at the scene until firefighters showed up to douse the flames.
Walsh told The Boston Globe he just did what anyone would have done in the situation and should not get credit for doing “what you should do.”
He says he was concerned there were children in the car.
Walsh says the Quincy resident thanked him at the scene. No one was hurt.
