CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - Authorities in South Carolina say a Charleston police officer was accidentally shot in the arm during firearms training.
The Post and Courier reports police say the officer was wounded Monday afternoon when a gun unintentionally went off.
The wounded officer was taken to a hospital for treatment. It’s unclear how the gun went off or if any of the officers will face disciplinary action. Authorities didn’t release the identities of those involved.
Police say an internal investigation will be conducted to ensure safety protocols were in place.
