COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - South Carolina coach Dawn Staley says forward Mikiah Herbert Harrigan will take her name from the NCAA transfer portal and play her senior season with the Gamecocks.

The 6-foot-2 Herbert Harrigan started 21 games last season, averaging 10.4 points and 5.1 rebounds. She had decided to leave after her season-closing meeting with Staley. However, Staley said Wednesday that after speaking with Herbert Harrigan and her family this week, the player reversed her decision.

Herbert Harrigan was among four members of this past year’s team with intentions to transfer. Other players included leading scorer Te’a Cooper and reserves in Bianca Jackson and LaDazhia Williams. But Staley says she won’t revisit any of the others’ decisions.

South Carolina is bringing in the country’s No. 1 recruiting class for next season.
