BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - A.J. Erdely passed for a score and ran for another and Spencer Brown had two rushing touchdowns to help UAB beat Charlotte 28-7 on Saturday night.

Erdely was 13-of-16 passing for 214 yards with no interceptions and Brown finished with 18 carries for 68 yards. The Blazers (3-1, 1-0 Conference USA), who lost the first-ever meeting between the teams last season, have won a program-record nine consecutive home games.

Erdely hit Andre Wilson for a 35-yard touchdown to cap the opening seven-play, 73-yard drive and Brown scored on a 2-yard run to make it 14-0 late in the first quarter. Erdely hit Collin Lisa for an 18-yard gain and connected with Austin Watkins for 8 yards on - both on third-and-6 - before his 4-yard TD run with 4:28 left in the first half gave UAB a 21-0 lead.

Chris Reynolds completed 17 of 25 passes for 194 yards with one interception and had a 4-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter for Charlotte (2-3, 1-1).

The Blazers came in averaging 280.0 yards rushing per game, No. 8 nationally, but ran for a season-low 116 yards Saturday.
