PORTLAND, Maine (AP) - Shouting “Kava-NO, Kava-NO,” a group of protesters in Portland is pressuring Republican Sen. Susan Collins on the Supreme Court nomination of Brett Kavanaugh.
Dozens rallied Monday to urge Collins to believe Kavanaugh’s accusers and for there to be a full investigation into sexual misconduct allegations against Kavanaugh. Some told their personal stories of sexual assault.
Then the group marched to the senator’s Portland office to deliver signatures of women asking her to reject the supreme court nominee.
Collins said over the weekend that before she decides how she’s going to vote she wants to hear from Kavanaugh and a woman who accused him of assaulting her in high school. A second accuser says Kavanaugh exposed himself at a drunken party at Yale University.
