DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) - Danny Eslick won his fourth Daytona 200 title in five years, dominating at Daytona International Speedway on Saturday to become the third rider to win the motorcycle road race at least four times.

Eslick added the title to his wins in 2014, 2015 and 2017 and trails only five-time Daytona 200 winners Scott Russell and Miguel Duhamel. He did not compete in 2016 after being suspended by the American Sportbike Racing Association because of an off-track incident.

Riding the No. 60 TOBC Racing Yamaha R6 600, Eslick beat second-place Cory West by 26.294 seconds on the 3.51-mile road course.

“We’ve kind of set our name in the books here at Daytona. … We’ve done pretty well,” Eslick said. “The biggest thing is the crew here at DIS. This is the only race (of the season) where we do pit stops.”

Eslick averaged 95.834 mph, using a spare engine after the team’s first engine failed during qualifying.

Robertino Pietri took third after a last-lap pass of Geoff May.
