BOSTON (AP) - U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren’s political challengers are adopting a new tactic - showing up at her rallies in Massachusetts.
On Saturday morning Warren is planning a town hall in Boston’s South End neighborhood. The Democrat says she’ll discuss her Senate work including efforts to address Puerto Rico’s economic future after Hurricane Maria.
Also planning to show up is state Rep. Geoff Diehl, one of three Republicans vying for the chance to challenge Warren in November. Diehl says he’ll hold a press conference outside Warren’s rally before the doors open.
This week, another Warren challenger - independent candidate Shiva Ayyadurai (EYE’-ah-dur-ahz) - showed up outside a Warren town hall event in Great Barrington.
The Berkshire Eagle reported that a supporter of Warren was caught on tape pushing a bullhorn into in Ayyadurai’s mouth.
