PHOENIX (AP) - The Latest on a Phoenix shooting involving police (all times local):
11:35 a.m.
Phoenix police have identified a homicide suspect who was shot and killed as well as two of the three victims.
Sgt. Alan Pfohl says 39-year-old Edward Hallinan fired a weapon from inside his truck as officers were setting up a perimeter around a home Wednesday afternoon.
Police were responding to a call from a woman reporting that her husband was firing shots from a rifle.
Pfohl says Hallinan fired a second shot, leading to an officer returning fire.
Hallinan was taken to a hospital but died from his injuries.
Police located 26-year-old Vidal Hernandez-Gutierrez, 21-year-old Francisco Javier Galindo and an unidentified third man inside the home. All three were pronounced dead.
Pfohl did not say how the suspect and the victims knew each other.

Phoenix police investigating the deaths of three men say a suspect has died after being shot during an encounter with police.
Sgt. Alan Pfohl confirmed Thursday that the suspect involved in Wednesday’s incident has died but Pfohl did not immediately release the suspect’s identity or additional information about the incident and the suspect’s subsequent death.
Police encountered the suspect as they responded to a report of a domestic violence dispute involving the suspect and the suspect’s wife at their home.
Pfohl said previously it wasn’t clear whether an officer shot the suspect or the suspect shot himself,
Pfohl also said previously that the three dead men were found in a nearby home and that it wasn’t immediately known what connection they had with the suspect.

Police are investigating after gunfire erupted in west Phoenix, leaving three men dead and the suspect critically wounded.
According to police, officers were called to the suspect’s home late Wednesday afternoon in response to a domestic violence dispute.
When officers arrived, police say, they were encountered by the suspect. He suffered a gunshot wound during the confrontation. No officers were injured.
Sgt. Alan Pfohl says it was not clear whether an officer had shot him or he shot himself. He says police determined after arriving that three men had been shot presumably by a suspect at a nearby area.
The suspect and victims have not been identified.
Pfohl says it wasn’t clear how the suspect and victims might have known each other.
