PHOENIX (AP) - A Catholic high school in Phoenix will resume classes Friday, a day after a student’s threat against a classmate led to school being canceled.
The Roman Catholic Diocese of Phoenix says St. Mary’s Catholic High School officials learned Wednesday about an incident on campus between two students which culminated in a threat against one.
Diocese spokesman Robert DeFrancesco said in a statement the alleged threat spread on social media, causing numerous students to skip school Thursday.
As a result of the low attendance, school was canceled for the day.
Phoenix police Det. Marianne Ramirez says there was no direct threat to the school or other students.
Police are questioning one of the students involved.
