CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - A man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for a shooting death during a drug deal in 2015.

The Post and Courier of Charleston reported that 35-year-old Walter Williamson of North Charleston agreed to a deal on a voluntary manslaughter charge.

Williamson was charged with shooting and killing 40-year-old Richard Williams to death. Williams was found dead in the driveway of his home June 3, 2015.

Williamson had been charged with murder and possession of a gun during a violent crime.

He’s being given credit for the nearly three years he’s been in jail before the trail.
