BOSTON (AP) - A Republican businessman hoping to unseat Democratic U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren has poured $3 million of his own money into his campaign.

Winchester executive John Kingston says he’s also raised more than $250,000 from supporters.

Kingston says voters are tired of Warren’s “divisive rhetoric and absent results.” He says the money will help give him the resources he needs to challenge Warren.

Warren’s campaign hasn’t yet said how much she’s raised as of the latest reporting deadline. At the end of June, Warren had $11 million in her account.

Other Republicans hoping to claim Warren’s Senate seat in next year’s election include Beth Lindstrom, a Groton resident and one-time aide to former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney, state Rep. Geoff Diehl of Whitman and Cambridge technology entrepreneur Shiva Ayyadurai.
