CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - The Citadel’s mess hall has regained an A rating after state health officials had given it a lower rating following sanitation problems found in an inspection this month.

The Post and Courier of Charleston reported the military school had received a B rating from the Department of Health and Environmental Control following an Oct. 13 inspection.

An inspector found problems with water temperatures at a utensil washing station, improper cooling of foods for storage and improper temperatures for holding hot foods.

A follow-up inspection Oct. 16 found some repeated problems. The A rating was restored after a third inspection Oct. 24.

The Citadel changed food service providers this summer. Aramark was replaced by Sodexo.

Spokesman John Dorrian said the school reviewed the problems with Sodexo after the earlier inspections.
