PHOENIX (AP) - Police in Phoenix have identified a driver arrested after allegedly running over and killing a woman who was jogging on a sidewalk.

They say 25-year-old Shannon Scott was taken into custody after the incident that occurred about 4:30 a.m. Thursday.

Police say Scott allegedly showed signs of impairment and is being held on suspicion of manslaughter.

It was unclear Thursday afternoon if Scott has a lawyer yet.

Police identified the victim as 36-year-old Martha Hilts, who was pronounced dead at a hospital.

They say the incident occurred in the Ahwatukee area of southeast Phoenix.
