Vice President Mike Pence said Monday that China is engaged more than ever before to help end North Korea’s nuclear ballistic missile program.
“We are seeing China doing more than they have done before,” the vice president said on CBS News. “The key here is for the United States and our allies in the region, working with China, to provide the diplomatic and economic pressure that will result in the regime in Pyongyang ending permanently their nuclear ballistic missile ambitions.”
Mr. Pence recently returned from a trip to the region where he spoke with local leaders on how to contain the threats from North Korea, which escalated last month.
“President Trump in a very real way has restored American power. They know that we are prepared to defend our allies and defend ourselves,” he said.
