PHOENIX (AP) - The Latest on a Phoenix apartment fire (all times local):

8 a.m.

The Phoenix Fire Department says two children and their mother have been hospitalized following an apartment fire Wednesday morning.

Fire Capt. Reda Bigler says a 2-year-old girl was in extremely critical condition with burns on about 80 percent of her body and a 5-year-old boy in serious but stable condition. Bigler says the 24-year-old mother was in serious condition.

Bigler says cause of the fire isn’t immediately known.

Photos from the scene showed smoke marks above windows of a ground-floor apartment in a two-story building.

The location is near South Central Avenue and East Roeser Road.

Authorities say “multiple burn victims” have been transported to the hospital following an apartment fire in south Phoenix.

Fire Capt. Reda Bigler says no additional information is immediately available on the Wednesday morning fire.

The location is near South Central Avenue and East Roeser Road.
