PHOENIX (AP) - Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey sat down with Vice President Mike Pence and President Donald Trump at a White House summit on the nation’s infrastructure needs.

Ducey was among mayors and governors Trump summoned to Washington for Thursday’s meetings. Ducey’s office says he had lunch with Pence and other officials near the White House and then participated in a roundtable discussion.

The Republican governor also participated in two breakout discussion - one on permitting and regulations that can slow development and the other on innovation projects.

The entire group then met with Trump at the White House. The president is holding a weeklong series of related events and announcements to highlight his efforts to combine private and public funding to overhaul the nation’s highways, waterways, electrical and air travel systems.
