LOS ANGELES (AP) - The Latest on the shooting of a Los Angeles police officer (all times local):
11 p.m.
A law enforcement official says a man who shot and wounded a Los Angeles police officer had streamed the shootout live on Facebook.
The official was not authorized to discuss an ongoing investigation and spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity.
Los Angeles Police Chief Charlie Beck said both the suspect and officer were wounded in the Thursday shootout, but both are expected to survive.
The official said the video, which captured at least part of the encounter, showed the suspect pointing a handgun at officers as gunshots rang around him.
The official said the man was shouting during the shootout, and at one point during the video he can be heard yelling that officers are “about to kill me.”
Police have not released the name of the wounded officer or the suspect.

Los Angeles’ police chief says an officer who was shot while pursuing a homicide suspect is expected to make a full recovery.
Chief Charlie Beck says the SWAT officer was shot during an exchange of gunfire with the suspect Thursday morning in El Segundo.
Beck says the suspect was one of four people wanted in connection with a gang-related homicide in March.
He says officers were pursuing the suspect before the man exited his car with a handgun. Beck says the suspect opened fire, striking the officer.
The chief says the officers returned fire and wounded the suspect. The man, whose name wasn’t immediately released, was hospitalized in serious condition.
Beck says the officer is recovering and that his wife - also an LAPD officer - was at his bedside.
