7 p.m.
A Philadelphia city councilman stabbed in an attempted robbery near his residence says he’s lucky the blade didn’t hit his vital organs.
Republican Councilman David Oh was released from the hospital Thursday afternoon. He told reporters at an impromptu news conference on his front porch that he feels “very good” and is in good spirits.
Oh says he was coming home from work Wednesday night when a man approached, demanded the keys to his car and stabbed him once in the left side.
Police are still looking for the assailant.

A Philadelphia city councilman stabbed in an attempted robbery near his residence has been released from the hospital.
Republican Councilman David Oh was released Thursday afternoon. A legislative aide says Oh is in good spirits and had run his council office from his hospital bed.
Police continued searching for his assailant; no arrests have been made.
Police say Oh was stabbed once in the left side late Wednesday night by a would-be robber as he was getting out of his car.

Oh’s legislative aide says the councilman, a minister’s son, “does not have any ill will toward the person who attacked him.” The aide says “that’s just the way he is.”
The aide says the attacker was a complete stranger.
Oh was first elected to council in 2011. He’s the first Asian-American elected to public office in Philadelphia, and the only U.S. military veteran currently serving on council.
