PHOENIX (AP) - The Latest on a fatal wrong-way crash in Phoenix (all times local):

6:40 a.m.

Authorities say the driver of a wrong-way car was killed when the vehicle collided with a truck on a Phoenix freeway ramp and fell off onto another ramp below.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety says the wreck early Thursday morning closed northbound Interstate 17 at the interchange with Interstate 10 for several hours. Ramps from I-10 to northbound I-17 remained closed as authorities investigated the wreck.

The DPS says the driver of a commercial truck that collided with the wrong-way car wasn’t injured.

According to DPS, the wrong-way vehicle was going southbound in northbound lanes of I-17 before the wreck occurred on a ramp at the I-10 interchange.

Authorities say part of Interstate 17 in Phoenix is closed as authorities investigate and clean up a wreck involving a wrong-way driver whose car collided with a truck and then went off a freeway ramp.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety says the driver of a work truck that collided with the wrong-way car wasn’t injured in the wreck early Thursday morning.

The wreck closed northbound I-17 at the junction with Interstate 10 as well as ramps to northbound I-17 from I-10.

According to DPS, the wrong-way vehicle was going southbound in northbound lanes of I-17 before the wreck occurred on a ramp at the I-10 interchange.

The Arizona Department of Transportation says the northbound I-17 closure is expected to last through the Thursday morning commute.

Southbound I-17 is unaffected.
