DAVENPORT, Iowa (AP) - Davenport officials say Lynn Washburn no longer is chief of the city’s fire department.

City officials would not say whether she stepped down or was fired Thursday and why she was ousted. Washburn was placed on administrative leave last Monday.

City Administrator Corri Spiegel told the City Council, the mayor and the rest of the Fire Department in email that Assistant Chief Jim Bickford will take over in the interim.

Washburn was hired by Davenport in 2011 after spending 29 years with the Rockford (Illinois) Fire Department. A public listing for her couldn’t be found.
