ELIZABETH, N.J. (AP) - Dozens of people have gathered at two rallies in New Jersey to protest President Donald Trump’s executive orders that banned people from seven predominantly Muslim nations from entering the country.

The events staged in Teaneck and Elizabeth on Sunday afternoon came one day after a similar rally was staged at Newark Liberty International Airport.

Participants at both rallies urged lawmakers to strongly oppose Trump’s policies, condemning them as anti-American. They also called on them to defend the rights of refugees and immigrants who were being detained and denied entry.

Armed with signs denouncing Trump, the protesters marched in Elizabeth amid chants of “No ban, no wall. USA welcomes all.”
