President Trump invited India Prime Minister Naredndra Modi to visit the United State in a phone call Tuesday, as the two leaders resolve to “stand shoulder to shoulder in the global fight against terrorism,” according to the White House.

In the call, Mr. Trump and Mr. Modi discussed strengthening the partnership between their countries, including in areas of economy and defense, said the White House.

Mr. Trump’s strong stand against exporting U.S. jobs has raised concerns in India, which has a thriving industry for U.S. companies that offshore customer service call centers.

Mr. Trump and Mr. Modi also discussed security in the region of South and Central Asia.
