FORT BRAGG, N.C. (AP) - Visitors to Fort Bragg from South Carolina have until June to use their driver’s licenses to gain entry onto the post.

The Fayetteville Observer reports (https://bit.ly/2iCKZGK) South Carolina was included earlier in January on a list of states not in compliance with a federal law designed to help officials combat fake identification. On Jan. 30, officials said South Carolina and four other states would join a list of states whose licenses would no longer be accepted for access onto Fort Bragg or any other military post.

However, officials at Fort Bragg said South Carolina has until June 6 to comply.

The Department of Homeland Security says 26 states and territories are in compliance, but most other states have extensions, including North Carolina, which has been granted an extension until October.
