BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - Chris Cokley scored 19 points with 9-for-12 shooting to lead UAB to an 82-69 win over Charlotte on Thursday night.

William Lee added 15 points and 12 rebounds for UAB, which controlled the boards 48-26 and held a 20-5 advantage in second chance points. UAB outscored Charlotte 52-28 on the interior.

Dirk Williams had 13 points and Deion Lavender 10 to help the Blazers (15-10, 8-4 Conference USA) pick up their 23rd-straight home court victory.

UAB took the lead for good during an 11-2 run that included a 3-pointer from Watts and made it 55-49 with 12:09 left. The Blazers then scored 10 of the game’s final 14 points to seal it.

Charlotte (11-12, 5-7) edged into its only lead of the second half with a 3-pointer from Braxton Ogbueze to make it 47-44 with 15:57 left but then went cold.

Jon Davis led the 49ers with 24 points and Andrien White had 10.
