WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - Delaware’s biggest city has approved longer liquor store hours on Sundays.

The News Journal reports that the new ordinance passed by a majority of Wilmington’s city council allows liquor stores located in commercial zones to sell alcohol on Sundays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The city previously allowed alcohol sales only from noon to 4 p.m.

The newspaper says the legislation was sponsored by Councilman Bud Freel.
