PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - A Rhode Island jeweler has pleaded guilty to multiple marijuana charges in exchange for no jail time.

WPRI-TV reported Monday 71-year-old Joseph Esposito, of Esposito Jewelry Inc. in Providence, pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver, conspiracy and two counts of delivery of a controlled substance.

He has received a five-year suspended sentence as part of a deal with the state attorney general’s office.

Esposito was arrested in November after he was captured on video selling marijuana and butane oil to an undercover officer multiple times.

Esposito is a prominent political donor. Gov. Gina Raimondo, Providence Mayor Jorge Elorza and House Majority Leader Joe Shekarchi, all Democrats, previously said they would donate his contributions if he was convicted.
