JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (AP) - Authorities say have identified a shooting victim in Johnstown over the weekend as a 13-year-old boy and say they believe the case is related to an earlier slaying.
The Cambria County coroner said Monday that Marquise Martin died of a gunshot wound to the chest.
He was found dead shortly before 10 p.m. Saturday on a front porch in the Hornerstown section of the city, but officials said he was shot about two hours earlier a block and a half away.
Chief Robert Johnson of the Johnstown police department said officials “have good reason to believe” that the homicide is connected to the Dec. 3 slaying of 18-year-old Tavion Williamson in Hornerstown.
The Greater Johnstown School District said the district “mourns the loss of a young man.”
