BRIDGETON, N.J. (AP) - A New Jersey man charged with murder in a deadly drive-by shooting is now accused of fatally shooting another man who authorities say had information about the killing.
A Cumberland County grand jury recently indicted Raheem Jacobs on murder and weapons charges in the September 2015 death of Jeron King. He was shot once in the head while attending a party in Fairfield Township.
Prosecutors say King was targeted because he had information about the death of Keon Butler, which had occurred in Bridgeton about a month earlier.
Jacobs, a 29-year-old Bridgeton resident, had been indicted on murder charges in connection with Butler’s slaying. Prosecutors say the latest indictment supersedes the first one and encompasses both slayings.
It wasn’t known Saturday if Jacobs has retained an attorney.
