PHOENIX (AP) - The Latest on a police shooting in Phoenix (all times local):

Phoenix police say a knife-wielding man who was shot by an officer after he refused to drop the weapon has died at a hospital.
They say the 28-year-old man was pronounced dead at a hospital after the incident early Thursday.
His name hasn’t been released yet.
Police say the man walked into a Phoenix hospital’s emergency room armed with two butcher knives and yelling incoherently.
He was later spotted across the street from the hospital, banging on the door of an apartment with one knife in his hands.
Police say he refused commands to drop the knife and stun-bag rounds fired at him failed to stop him from advancing toward five officers.
They say one officer shot the man to end the threat.

Phoenix police say a man advancing toward officers refused to drop a knife and wasn’t stopped by beanbag shotgun rounds before one officer shot and critically wounded him.
Sgt. Alan Pfohl officers encountered the man Thursday morning as he knocked on the door of an apartment after leaving a nearby hospital’s emergency room where he reportedly waved two butcher knives while mumbling incoherently.
Pfohl says Maricopa Medical Center personnel got the man to leave the ER and that officers responding to a call from the hospital found him at an apartment complex near the hospital.
Pfohl says there was no immediately indication that the man had gone to the hospital to seek treatment.
The man’s name wasn’t released.

Phoenix police say a suspect has been taken to a hospital after being shot by a police officer.
A Police Department spokesman says the officer wasn’t injured and that incident occurred Thursday morning near 26th and Roosevelt streets in central Phoenix.
No identities were released, and additional information wasn’t immediately available.

Media outlets report that an officer shot a suspect and that the suspect has been taken to a hospital.
