Last week President Trump met with Jordanian King Abdullah at the White House. After years of being snubbed by the previous presidential administration, it’s about time the king and his wife received respect they and the kingdom deserve.

Why hasn’t the United States provided substantial aid to Jordan to counterbalance the ongoing Middle East terrorist threat? Jordan faces these elements on three of its four borders. Seeing as Jordan’s medical, educational, social and economic infrastructures are near collapse because of its forced receipt of more than two million Syrian refugees in the past seven years, why hasn’t the United States helped the king deal with this scourge?

Why is Jordan plagued with Vietnam-era military equipment and hardware in its fight against extremists who only intend to vanquish that nation given its government’s association with the United States? Why hasn’t the United States provided Jordan’s fighting force with up-to-date military armaments?

Given the foreign- and military-aid commitments President Trump made during the meeting with the king, these issues now stand addressed and will be answered in due course. The king and his fellow Jordanians can now enjoy life just a bit more and breathe a lot easier.
