A Ferrari once owned by President Donald Trump sold for a record $270,000 over the weekend.

An Auctions America event in Florida played “Hail to the Chief” as a 2007 Ferrari F430 F1 Coupe went up for sale on Saturday. The vehicle, which Mr. Trump sold in 2011, received a new owner minutes after leaving the podium at the Fort Lauderdale Convention Center. A $245,000 bid did not meet the car’s reserve price.

“That does happen sometimes, but that’s what’s great about having a second chance in our Still For Sale,” Auction America said Monday on its Facebook page. “If a car doesn’t reach reserve or the reserve isn’t lifted on the block, it moves there where anyone can make an offer on the vehicle.”

Hagerty Insurance said the sale price is the most a Ferrari F430 Coupe with an automatic transmission has ever sold for at auction, CNN Monday reported Sunday.

“Similar versions of the model without the celebrity provenance traditionally bring between $125,000 and $175,000 depending on mileage, condition and optional equipment,” Auctions America said in a statement.

The unidentified owner’s new car comes with 6,000 miles — and Mr. Trump’s signature — on it, the network reported.
